The Arty Road Show, between fashion and design

On the occasion of the Paris event Paris Design Week, we offer you a focus on fashion and decoration.

Maison Sensey aims to be a talent scout but also to link those who know how to bring them to light and help them in their development.

We met Catherine Blot a specialist in retail in the world of decoration and fashion. This passionate woman makes us share her vision but also an event that she created with her partner Dominique Larcher, L'Arty Road Show.

How did it start?


After many years spent in the luxury world and more specifically in Retail and Wholesale I created my own agency, the Retail Factory.

I intervene in the craft and creative sector to make them benefit from the best practices and practices of Luxury.

My job is the development of the young shoots of luxury who work in the sector of Crafts and creative.

I intervene by offering the services of an outsourced Retail structure adapted to crafts so that they can disseminate their creations to a quality network.

The challenge is to save them time in the development process while maintaining a Luxe positioning.


What is your approach to crafts?


Creators who undertake in crafts seek for their distribution a selective distribution network to gain visibility and develop their business.

Many prefer to stay focused on their core business, and structuring their business processes is not always identified as crucial while building a clear Retail strategy is nevertheless necessary to significantly expand their business.

Designing and developing a network of sales outlets in the craft and creative industries is neither an art nor a gift, but a demanding profession, made up of multiple details such as techniques, processes, know-how as well as know-how.

LA FABRIQUE DU RETAIL, offers the services of a Retail Outsourced structure adapted to the crafts, to accompany them in their commercial development by the lever of the point of sale, whatever form it takes: Art gallery , Department Store, Concept Store, Specialist Retail, but also Showroom by architects ....


What is your vision of Retail, how can you define it today and what is its role?


Crafts and crafts need to meet their audience, it is the customer who gives meaning to the creation.

Marketing is the key to the development of a brand, an artistic identity. To entrust it to a distributor or to a network of retailers, however selective they may be, deprives the creator of the understanding of his target, of the welcome that it reserves for its creation.

The brands of luxury have understood this and have refocused their distribution on their own network to keep control of their image and also ensure the profitability of their activity.

But what is called Retail, or more simply the management of the activity of a shop or a network of boutiques, requires a strategic reflection beforehand, to build a commercial architecture, the point of sale of which is the visible part of the building. With the emergence of new ephemeral, nomadic, digital formats ... the concepts of shop are changing.

For its part, in this changing and sometimes dematerialized universe, the client is waiting for positive, sensory, even emotional experiences.

But to offer the customer a congruent image of the brand, goes even further, because it is through the various points of contact: the shop, its merchandising, its customer services, the discourse and attitude of its sales staff etc. . that the invisible attachment of customers to a brand is woven.

In the context of the Retail mutation, the point of sale has therefore become a strategic central location for a luxury brand.


What is the concept of the Arty Road Show?


On September 8, the ARTY ROAD-SHOW comes to take root the time of Paris Design Week in the showroom of MATIERES A CONVICTION; my partner Dominique Larcher, decorator, discoverer of talents, created MATIERES A CONVICTION early 2017 to propose a selection of designers, and prescribe them to a clientele of demanding individuals and renowned architects.

Its showroom is ideally located close to the prestigious Place de la Victoire and its bay windows open onto the roofs of Notre Dames des Victoires.

Together, we forge links to implement original creations, capsule collections, unique pieces, prototypes.

From September 8th to September 16th 2017, we present 15 designers and fashion and design artists who renew the vision of the subject by exploring new uses in the house sector and fashioning a new intimist and authentic lifestyle.

In a world where everything happens quickly, and because borders blur between intimate places and public places, between the individual and the social, between personal and professional life, between the In and the Out, Micro and Macro question the world in its infinitude, infinitely small and infinitely great, or each can draw to recharge.

It is this theme of the intimate that finds an echo in the universe that connects all these creations. These objects are like keys of entry in a magic parenthesis, a time for oneself to better find oneself, a time that seems to slow down, to be suspended. They function as an anchor: it is a question of marking one's footprint, of dressing up space, of telling one's story, of dramatizing one's life, but also of feeling well, refocused; this is what is called home branding: it is a vision of habitat as an extension and expression of its singularity, revealing a personality that gives rise to the creation of new uses, new rituals, a new art of living authentic and cool.

My role is to identify and gather exceptional creations in the format of ephemeral and nomadic collections and my role is to make them travel in unprecedented exhibition spaces that are like cases for these exceptional creations. And that offers this famous customer experience so much sought after by retailers.
