Je ne sais pas comment répondre avec précision à votre question…

Peut-être qu'il n'y a pas vraiment de "point de départ" en photographie. Je sais seulement qu'après mes études d’ingénieur et mes premières photos, je me souviens que toutes les photos que je prenais étaient une sorte d'objet magique. Chaque photo devenait un objet d’art qui sortait de mes yeux et de mon appareil photo. Cela me rendait fier. Les premières photos n’étaient vraiment pas géniales, mais c’est cette magie qui m'a poussé à poursuivre la photographie. Ce n’est bien qu’après que j'ai commencé à faire des portraits et à m'intéresser à la mode.

Comment définissez-vous votre travail?

J'ai une relation passionnelle avec mon travail, une sorte d’amour, haine. Chaque séance de shooting est extrême. Je recherche toujours ce qui fera la différence. J'adore ça ! je me dis à chaque fois "Waouh, c'est le meilleur travail que j'ai jamais fait !” mais une fois le travail terminé, je pense toujours que j'aurais pu faire mieux. Je pense que la photographie me fait sentir vivant à chaque fois.Je fais toujours de mon mieux. Alors c’est comme cela que je peux certainement définir mon travail: un moyen de me sentir vivant.

Quelles techniques photographiques utilisez-vous?

J'adore les lumières douces. Cela permet de garder la partie émotionnelle du sujet hors de l'image. Lorsque je tourne dans un studio, la plupart du temps j'utilise un octabox, parfois un Beauty Dish.

Quand je suis à l'extérieur, j'aime photographier en lumière naturelle. J'essaie toujours de garder une atmosphère mélancolique dans mes images. En ce moment je travaille sur un nouveau projet avec une vieille caméra analogique, le Lomo Lc-a.

Quelles sont vos inspirations?

La musique et les films sont ma plus grande source d'inspiration. J'aime Luigi&Lango, Emma Summerton, Craing McDean, Steven Meisel et Peter Lindberg. Leurs images sont si rêveuses !

Pourquoi la mode?

Je n'ai jamais choisi la photographie de mode, la photographie de mode m'a choisi. Après mes premières prises de vues, je savais que j'avais besoin de beauté dans mes photos, j'ai besoin de beauté et d'émotions. Peut-être pour mon incapacité à trouver la beauté dans la vraie vie et tout autour de moi. La mode est la meilleure façon de créer de la beauté et d'imaginer que la «beauté» est réelle.

La photographie et la mode ont toujours un lien, elles marchent ensemble. Les créations de mode ont des possibilités infinies, tout comme la photographie. Il y a donc des résultats infinis et chaque résultat est une inspiration pour l'autre.

Quelle photo vous a rendu le plus fier, pourquoi?

C'est vraiment difficile pour moi d'avoir un lien sentimental fixe avec mon travail. Mais il y a une photo que j'aime et que je ferai toujours, The Blood Red Flower.

La fleur rouge-sang, et représente l'éternité, le vent à travers les cheveux représente la force, les yeux mélancoliques. Ce portrait correspond à la vision de la beauté dont j'ai toujours eu besoin dans ma vie, tout ce que j'ai trouvé et que j'aimerai toujours.

Giuseppe Pirozzi is an Italian fashion photographer who lives between Naples and Milan. He began photography in 2009. Passionate about fashion and beauty, he left his engineering studies to devote himself to his art. Today, he shares it on the glossy pages of fashion magazines.

His refined and romantic style is constantly seeking emotion. His photographs offer a subtle blend of retro and modernity. Beauty attracts its opposite without ever revealing it, the shadows open on a felted imagination.

The search for beauty has become Giuseppe Pirozzi's quest that he immortalizes in his photos.

How did it begin?

I do not know how to answer your question accurately.

Maybe there is not really a "starting point" in photography. I only know that after my engineering studies and my first pictures, I remember that all the pictures I took were some kind of magic object. Each photo became an art object that came out of my eyes and my camera. It made me proud. The first pictures were really not great, but it's this magic that pushed me to continue photography. It was only good after I started doing portraits and getting interested in fashion.

How do you define your work?

I have a passionate relationship with my work, a kind of love, hate.

Each shooting session is extreme. I am always looking for what will make the difference. I love that ! I say to myself "Wow, it's the best job I've ever done!" but once the work is done, I always think I could have done better. I think photography makes me feel alive every time.I always do my best. So that's how I can definitely define my work: a way to feel alive.

What photographic techniques do you use?

I love soft lights. This keeps the emotional part of the subject out of the picture. When I shoot in a studio, most of the time I use an octabox, sometimes a Beauty Dish. When I'm outside, I like to shoot in natural light. I always try to keep a melancholy atmosphere in my images. Right now I'm working on a new project with an old analog camera, the Lomo Lc-a.

What are your inspirations?

Music and movies are my greatest source of inspiration. I like Luigi & Lango, Emma Summerton, McDean Craing, Steven Meisel and Peter Lindberg. Their images are so dreamy!

Why fashion?

I never chose fashion photography, fashion photography chose me. After my first shots, I knew that I needed beauty in my photos, I need beauty and emotions. Maybe for my inability to find beauty in real life and all around me. Fashion is the best way to create beauty and imagine that "beauty" is real.

Photography and fashion always have a connection, they walk together. Fashion creations have endless possibilities, just like photography. There are therefore infinite results and each result is an inspiration for the other.

Which photo made you most proud, why?

It's really hard for me to have a fixed sentimental connection with my job. But there is one picture I love and I will always do, The Blood Red Flower.

The red-blood flower, and represents eternity, the wind through the hair represents the force, the melancholic eyes. This portrait corresponds to the vision of beauty that I have always needed in my life, all that I have found and that I will always love.
